- Saxon Creek Tributary Trail Bridge project consists of new bicycle/equestrian trail bridge construction. The bridge is 20 feet long by 6 feet wide between rails and composed of Douglas-fir pressure treated following Best Management Practice for an aquatic environment. The project also includes trail redesignation, deconstruction and disposal of existing water crossing, and obliteration of existing trail. Saxon Creek Tributary Trail Bridge project is located in El Dorado County, CA on the Saxon Creek Trail also known to mountain bikers as Mr. Toad?s Wild Ride. There are two trail access points to the project location. From South Lake Tahoe, head south on Interstate Highway 50/California Highway 89 to Meyers. Turn east onto Apache Avenue-a residential road. Follow Apache around, turn east onto Mohican Drive. Mohican Drive runs into Iroquois Circle. Head south on Iroquois Circle ending in the southeast corner to Forest Service access road 18E13. The Saxon Creek Tributary crossing is approximately 0.75 mile southeast from the end of the Forest Service access road on trail 18E13. The second trail access point is reached by traveling southwest on Pioneer Trail from South Lake Tahoe. Pioneer Trail is accessed from Highway 50 heading west about 0.5 miles from Stateline, NV. Travel Pioneer Trail approximately 6.75 miles. Turn east onto Oneidas Street. Turn South onto 12N01A. The trailhead is approximately 1 mile south on 12N01A. From the trailhead, the project location is approximately 1.5 miles south. The project is located within Section 33, Township 11N, Range 18E. Estimated solicitation issue date 06/15/2006. Estimated start work date 09/15/2006, contract time 35 days. Government price range $25,000 to $100,000.
