Description: The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Pittsburgh District, has a need to perform major rehabilitation on the Main and Back Channel Dams, Emsworth Locks and Dams, Ohio River, Allegheny County, PA. The work to be performed consists of furnishing all plant , materials, equipment, supplies, labor and transportation and performing all work necessary to design, prepare drawings and data, manufacture, shop test, prepare and load for shipment, and deliver and install two new bulkhead hoists and host frames togeth er with all accessories and specified spare parts. The work includes the removal and disposal of the existing bulkhead hoists. The hoists are to be installed at the Main and Back Channel Dams, Emsworth Locks and Dams, Ohio River, Allegheny County, P, appr oximately six miles downstream of the point in Pittsburgh, PA. The period of performance for the Back Channel Dam is 180 calendar days after the contractor receives the notice to proceed; for the Main Channel Dam, 240 calendar days after the contractor re ceives the notice to proceed. Magnitude of the project is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. Pursuant to the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program established by Public Law 100-656, Business Opportunity Development Reform Act of 1988, this procurement will be unrestricted and any resulting award will be made pursuant to the above program. The Invitation for Bid (IFB) will be issued approximately May 31, 2006, on-line only through FedTeDS; therefore, requests for hardcopies of the specificat ions and drawings will not be honored.
