Description
The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) has a requirement for a contract to establish an Alkali-Silica Reactivity (ASR) Development and Deployment Program. It is anticipated that work under this contract may include off-site support at the Contractor?s facility or at field locations throughout the United States. The resulting contract may include development of testing protocols, selection of field applications and demonstrations, surveys, technical support, applied research, database development, technology transfer, and facilitation. It is anticipated that the resulting contract will consist of a one-year base period with four one-year option periods. This requirement is a 100 percent set-aside for small business pursuant to NAICS code 541710 with a small business size standard of 500 employees. The solicitation and all related documents and amendments, if any, will only be available electronically through the FedBizOpps posting system at http://www.Fedbizopps.gov (under the Vendors option select the Department of Transportation (DOT) center). As such, no written, telephonic, facsimile or email requests for the solicitation package will be honored. Interested parties can register at the aforementioned site to receive procurement announcements by email. Since this solicitation will only be available electronically, it is solely the responsibility of interested parties to monitor the FedBizOpps website for any solicitation amendments. All responsible sources are encouraged to submit an offer. Additionally, an ASR Benchmarking Workshop is scheduled for June 6, 7 and 8, 2006 in Chicago, IL, which will focus on previous and current work being conducted in ASR. The workshop is open to the public; however, interested parties must register by May 22, 2006 and registration is limited to one representative per company/entity.
