Description
The U.S. Coast Guard Engineering Logistics Center intends to issue a solicitation and award a requirements type contract, with a base year and four (one year) option periods for the purchase of Marine Crane System (MCS) for 110 WPB Cutters. The system will replace the existing Marine Crane with a new crane in accordance with ELC Specification No. P 583-0435, dated 9 May 2006. The contractor shall be ISO 9001-2000 registered and licensed by API. This procurement is 100% Small Business Set-Aside. The marine crane shall have a single Working Load Limit (WLL) rating of at least 2,500 lbs at all points up to a maximum telescopic outreach of 18 feet. This capacity shall be under the conditions in seas with 8.2 feet significant wave height. The total operating wet weight of the MCS shall not exceed 5,000 lbs. The marine crane system shall consist of the following 7 modules or assemblies, plus any additional loose components required for installation and support. The marine crane system shall be provided as a factory assembled and tested system. Modular Construction:(a) Marine Crane unit including swing mechanism (rotation bearing), (b) Crane Column with bearing flange, (c) Hydraulic Power Unit and Motor Controller, (d) Crane and HPU Control Panel, (e) Chest Pack Crane Control System, (f) Secondary Crane Control System, and (g) HPU Remote Control Unit. Estimated quantity per year is 6 each. In addition the Coast Guard may require a spare marine crane module of. This procurement will require the following items to be furnished: Design and interface reports - test plans -Technical support; by phone and on site. - Technical Publication for installation, operation and maintenance of the equipment. - Technical Representative for Commissioning services, Training of Personnel- Warranty period of 12 months after installation or 18 months after receipt of materials. ? Delivery to be 210 calendar days for First Article Testing ? Production Unit shall be 180 calendar days. The solicitation will be posted on FedBizOpps on or about June 2006. It is the contractor?s responsibility to check FedBizopps on a regular basis for the solicitation and any amendments issued.
