Description
Special Notice SN 06-26: Accelerated Manufacturing of Pharmaceuticals Teaming and Information Session DATE: May 26, 2006, REGISTRATION DEADLINE: May 19, 2006, TECHNICAL POC: Dr. Michael Callahan, DARPA/DSO, Ph: (571) 218-4537, URL: http://www.sainc.com/ampteaming/ Accelerated Manufacturing of Pharmaceuticals (AMP), SN06-26. The Defense Sciences Office (DSO) of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) is sponsoring a teaming and information session for AMP, a new DARPA program. The vision of the Accelerated Manufacturing of Pharmaceuticals (AMP) program is to create an extremely rapid, flexible and cost-effective manufacturing system capable of producing three million doses of GMP-quality vaccines or monoclonal antibodies (mAB) within 12 weeks. A highly integrated, multi-disciplinary team capable of fulfilling the entire vision, meeting all program objectives and milestones for each phase of the program is strongly encouraged. The teaming and information session will be held at Strategic Analysis, Inc., Executive Conference Center 3601 Wilson Blvd. Arlington, VA, on May 26, 2006. The goals of the teaming and information session are: (a) introduce the research community (industry, academia, and Government) to the AMP program vision and goals; and (b) encourage and promote teaming arrangements among potential research organizations that have the relevant expertise, facilities, and capabilities for executing a research and development program responsive to the AMP program goals. The teaming and information session will include overview presentations by Government personnel including personnel from DARPA and the FDA. Additionally, a teaming website is provided to facilitate teaming interactions and can be found at http://www.sainc.com/ampteaming/. We encourage all teams to register and post on the AMP Teaming Website. Appropriate teaming will be a critical element in responding to the DARPA AMP BAA06-31. Teaming and information session participants are strongly encouraged to prepare posters describing areas of capabilities in order to facilitate communications, interactions, and teaming discussions during the poster session. Posters must be submitted through the teaming website by May 19, 2006, at 4 P.M. ET. A maximum of 100 4ft. by 4 ft. posters can be accommodated. Teaming and information session details (including registration information and poster submissions) will be available on the AMP Teaming website at http://www.sainc.com/ampteaming/. There is no fee for any teaming and information session activities. Registration is limited by the venue capacity (maximum of 100 attendees). As a result of venue capacity, the session is limited to a maximum of two members per group. Early registration is strongly recommended. The registration cutoff date is May 19, 2006, at noon ET, or at attendance capacity, whichever comes first. Further administrative information is available from Tina Orr (torr@sysplan.com). Additional technical information can be obtained from Michael Callahan (michael.callahan@darpa.mil). Please refer to the ?AMP Teaming and Information Session? in correspondence. This announcement is not a request for proposals. The solicitation document is available at http://www.darpa.mil/baa/baa06-31.html. Material presented at the teaming and information session, including posters presented at the poster session DARPA presentations, and any DARPA response to clarification inquiries, will also be available at http://www.sainc.com/ampteaming/ for those interested in BAA06-31 but unable to attend.
