Description

The United States Geological Survey, Menlo Prak, CA intends to make a sole source award to the University of Durham at DURHAM, DH1 3LE, UK for the service to provide moment-tensor study for Enhanced Geothermal Systems (EGS) Project at Coso Geothermal area, Inyo County, CA. This service is for the period of 27 May to 01 August 06. No other vendor is known to have specialized experience with moment-tensor inversion methods that are accurate for such small earthquakes. The Government intends to award this requirement noncompetitively IAW FAR 13.106-1(b)(2). Other interested concerns havng the ability to furnish these services may submit a capabilities statement no later than the closing date of this announcement. All submissions will be evaluated to determine if competitive opportunities exist. This is not a RFP; no written solicitation will be issued.
