- The US Army Research, Development, and Engineering Command, Armament Research, Development and Engineering Center (RDECOM-ARDEC), Picatinny Arsenal, NJ is currently seeking sources for the manufacture and delivery of a 40mm Nonlethal Extended Range Cartridge. This round is designed to provide an effective nonlethal point control measure on a targeted individual through kinetic energy upon impact or tag the individual by releasing a visible, indelible UV dye upon impact. The cartridge is intended to extend the range of current 40mm nonlethal round, the M1006. The M1006 has a limited range of 10-50cm. The extended range shall be a nonlethal device effective beyond the range of current cartridge. Respondents are expected to specify the minimum safe distance and maximum effective range in the information submitted. The cartridges must be compatible with the M203 grenade launcher. Rounds that use a marking UV dye must retain its properties up to three days, (5 days desired). All responsible, interested sources are encouraged to submit their capabilities/qualifications date. The literature received from interested candidates shall describe its functional and characteristics. Request that any prospective offers submit their literature no more than 30 pages within the 30 days from the date of publication of this notice.
