Description
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Great Lakes Region has a requirement to repair and upgrade the existing passenger Elevator at the Airport Traffic Control Tower (ATCT), Gerald R Ford International Airport, Grand Rapids, Michigan. Work includes, but not limited to: 1. Install a non-proprietary microprocessor controller and Variable Voltage Variable Frequency (VVVF) motor drive. Install new machine room and hoistway wiring and elevator car traveling cable. New final hoistway limit switches and leveling units are included. 2. Install new geared traction hoist machine with new VVVF AC hoist motor. Install new hoist rope brake. 3. Install new hoist ropes and new wedge clamp rope shackles. 4. Install new high-speed governor and governor rope. 5. Install car door operator type MOVFR from G.A.L. at front and rear car openings with new clutches, hangers, tracks and interlocks. 6. Install new hoistway door closer on all floors (8 landings). 7. Install new surface-mounted hall pushbutton-stations at all eight landings. All fixtures mounted at a height in compliance with Americans with Disabilities Act. 8. Re-use smoke detectors at all floors and elevator machine room. Interface new elevator controls with the existing smoke detectors for fire service operation. 9. Repair CAB phone and verify that it is operational. 10. Tighten all landing door linkages. 11. The elevator shall be connected to the existing engine generator for backup power. The work will be performed in strict accordance with the specifications and contract provisions under the subject contract. Award of a firm-fixed-price contract is being contemplated to a responsible offeror who submits the responsive offer for this requirement. This Notice is for informational purposes for Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization, has programs to assist small businesses, small businesses owned and controlled by a socially and economically disadvantaged individuals, and women-owned concerns to acquire capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, payment, and performance bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80 percent guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the DOT short Term receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $750,000.
