Description
Point of Contact: laura.gribble@gsa.gov The Government wishes to obtain the following parts and labor for approximately 6 courtrooms: 1. Courtroom Technology Infrastructure 2. Courtroom Voice and Data Cabling System. Voice and Data Cabling must conform to the following: J-STD-607-A-2002. TIA/EIA 568-B1-B3, with addenda. TIA/EIA 569-B-2004. TIA/EIA 606-A-2002. ISO 9001-2000. NFPA 70-2005. MANUFACTURER'S CERTIFIED SYSTEM INSTALLER: Each Voice and Data cabling systems installer shall currently be a manufacturer's certified system installer in good standing with five years minimum experience on projects similar in scope to that shown on the Drawings and specified herein. Substitution will be not accepted. Installation crew shall have a minimum of 1 BICSI certified Level 1 installer and 1 BICSI certified Level 2 installer per every 3 personnel, and system installation shall be managed by a registered communications distribution designer (RCDD). Submittal shop drawings shall have the RCDD registration stamp on each sheet. Certifications must be in place before Contract award. WARRANTY: Provide a 15-year minimum product warranty and system assurance warranty for this cabling system covering hardware and labor to replace any channel that fails the performance requirements specified herein within the warranty period. Provide cabling and connector products from manufacturers who either manufacture both cable and terminating hardware, or have partnered with other manufacturers to provide such an extended warranty. The system warranty shall assure a Category 6 Channel Performance for each voice and data outlet: CABLING MANUFACTURERS: Acceptable Copper Cabling Systems Manufacturer or Combination of Manufacturers: Amp Netconnect SL series. Systimax Giga Speed XL7. Hubbell Surebit Nextspeed utilizing Mohawk Advance Net Ortronics Netclear GT2 utilizing Berk-Tek LANmark-1000. Panduit TXG Plus utilizing TX 6000. Siemon Max 6 utilizing Siemon System 6 UTP cable. CommScope Uniprise UNJ600 utilizing Ultra Media cable. FIBER OPTIC MANUFACTURERS: Acceptable Fiber Optic Cabling Systems Manufacturers: Corning. Systimax. CommScope. 3. Specialty Systems Commissioning Provide a Specialty Systems Commissioning Supervisor for each separately subcontracted specialty system (information technology systems). The Specialty Systems Commissioning Supervisor shall have 10 years experience in specialty systems contracting. The Specialty Systems Commissioning Supervisor shall become familiar with the Owner's project requirements and the requirements of the commissioning process as defined in this Section. The Specialty Systems Commissioning Supervisor shall coordinate and execute the required commissioning activities. The Specialty Systems Commissioning Supervisor shall review submittal data for conformance with the requirements of the Project, shall monitor compliance with the requirements specified herein for storage and protection of equipment during installation, shall oversee testing, and shall document that the scheduled and specified performance requirements of each system have been accomplished. Refer to ASHRAE Guideline 1-1996, The HVAC Commissioning Process, and Guideline 4-1993, Preparation of Operating and Maintenance Documentation for Building Systems. TESTING: Testing shall be accomplished using a Datacom Technologies, Fluke, Microtest, Scope Communications, or WaveTek test instrument supporting extended frequency range of 250 Mhz. Test 100% of the cabling links. The tester shall support the following requirements: Level III accuracy as defined in ANSI/TIA/EIA 568-B1-B3, with addenda. Digital with fault location capabilities. Measure ELFEXT and Power Sum ELFEXT. Distinguish external noise from NEXT. 4. Audiovisual System and Infrastructure for Electronic Audio Reinforcement and Evidence Presentation 5. A minimal amount of high voltage electrical work is required. 6. Work is to be done in a Historical Building. Building Permits will be required. 7. Contractor must be located within 50 miles of Tacoma, Washington. We anticipate issuing the RFP in GSA FTSs IT-Solutions Shop on 23 May 2006, with a closing date of 12:00 pm on 02 June 2006.
