- Description
- The Tahoe NF 2006 Vegetation Mapping project facilitates the implementation of the Sierra Nevada Framework Plan amendment (SNFPA) and the TAHOE NF Land and Resource Management Plan. The resulting vegetation map will assist land managers in managing all resources within the boundaries of the Tahoe NF and meeting the requirements of the Tahoe LMP and the SNFPA. The purpose of this project is to secure services for the development of a GIS coverage of the mapped vegetation as per precision and accuracy standards. The vegetation mapping shall comply with Federal Geographic Data Committee (FGDC) standards and specifically with existing USDA Forest Service standards for vegetation mapping to mid-level with enhancements to national mid-level standard required for project level mapping. The USDA Forest Service FINAL Existing Vegetation Classification and Mapping Technical Guide describes mid-level standards and can be found at http://www.fs.fed.us/emc/rig/index2.htm. The Contractor shall furnish all necessary personnel, facilities, equipment, materials, and transportation to perform the work described herein. The contractor or his Representative shall personally supervise all phases of the project, including field surveys. Estimated solicitation date May 12, 2006.
