Description

The National Library of Medicine (NLM) of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) proposes to procure from Government Micro Resources Incorporated (GMRI), 7403 Gateway Court, Manassas, Virginia 20109. The requirement consists of hardware/software support and maintenance for SUN Microsystems work stations and servers. The acquisition includes one site support package to support and to manage the NIH Business System (NBS)UFMS E25K Environment. It will provide support to keep existing SUN Microsystems workstation functioning at optimal performance levels through the remainder of the fiscal year (2006). This acquisition is less than the Simplified threshold. This support will be performed under a government-wide contract. GMRI is the only party known to NIH that can meet the above requirements for the existing system. A Sole Source is warranted to maintain the continuity of the environment, avoid service disruptions, and provide the best value to the government. This is not a solicitation for competitive proposals. However, if any other interested party believes that it can meet the requirements it may submit a statement of capabilities. The capability statement and any other information furnished must be in writing, and must contain material in sufficient detail to allow NIH to determine if the party can meet all of the foregoing requirements. Offers must also be accompanied by descriptive literature, warranties, and/or other information that demonstrates that the offer meets all of the foregoing requirements. Capability statements and related materials must be received in this office by 4:00 p.m. EST on the closing date of this announcement. The determination to compete or not compete the proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
