Description

This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. U.S. Army Space Command intends to issue a contract to Mobile Mini Inc, Colorado Springs, CO through solicitation no. W91260-06-T-0009 pursuant to the authority of FAR Parts 6.3, 12 and 13.501(a) ?Sole Source Acquisitions?. Mobile Mini Inc will be providi ng thirteen (13) 18'x 10' storage containers for US Army Space and Missile Defense (SMDC) 1st Space Brigade and 1st Space Battalion, Peterson AFB CO. Required delivery date is 14 calendar days after the date of award of contract. Six (6) out of the thirteen (13) storage containers are currently being rented from Mobile Mini and will be converted to purchase under the contract contemplated. Seven (7) additional 18'x 10' storage containers are to be purchased in addition to the six ( 6) 18' x 10' containers currently being rented. The required 18' x 10' storage containers includes shelving installed on both sides of the interior of the containers, delivery, and setup. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepar ed in accordance with the format in Federal Acquisition Regulations document (FAR) subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect thro ugh Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2005-09. The proposed contract action is for purchase of thirteen (13) 18' x 10' storage containers for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.501. The re is only one responsible source and no other services will satisfy agency requirements. Six (6) out of the thirteen 18' x 10' storage containers are currently rented from Mobile Mini Inc and in use by SMDC 1st Space Brigade and 1st Space Battalion. Mobi le Mini Inc is the only source capable of providing the 18' x 10' storage containers and interior shelving required. A justification for Other than Full and Open Competition has been prepared in support of this acquisition. The provision at FAR 52.212-1, I nstructions to Offerors, applies to this acquisition to the extent consistent with a sole source acquisition. Offerors shall include a completed copy of the provision at FAR 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Certifications-Commercial Items, with its of fer. The clause at FAR 52.212-4, Contract terms and Conditions-Commercial Items, applies to this acquisition. The clause at FAR 52.212-5, Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statutes or Executive Orders-Commercial Items, applies to this acq uisition. This is not a solicitation nor is it a formal request for proposal.
