Description
The FAA has a requirement for 150 A/B Switch Modules. These modules are required to support the Flight Data Input Output (FDIO) Technical Refresh program. The goal of the Technical Refresh program is to replace vintage 1980s FDIO equipment presently in operations at air traffic control facilities nationwide with a modernized Technical Refresh system. The A/B Switch Module is one of several components that comprise the FDIO Technical Refresh configuration. The FAA anticipates contract award with options for up to 300 additional switch modules. Contract award is anticipated to be prior to the end of this fiscal year with the option exercise periods valid through FY 08. Equipment provided must meet the requirements and configuration of the attached specification. Qualified vendors interested in participating in a competitive procurement are requested to provide statements of interest and capability. These statements must be received no later than 12 noon, Eastern Time, 5/4/06. These statements should not exceed 5 pages in length and must address the following: ?? Provide a statement of interest in participating in a competitive procurement for the required components. ?? Provide a brief description of your company to include status as a small or small disadvantaged business. ?? Provide a synopsis of technical expertise or experience with similar or identical switch modules. Include whether your company has switch modules meeting the attached requirements as COTS items. ?? Provide a synopsis of production experience of identical or similar switch modules. ?? Provide a delivery schedule for the first 150 A/B switch modules stated in terms of days after contract award. The FAA will not use the capabilities statements to screen or down select. Rather, they will be used to determine the range of vendor interest, technical capability and availability of COTS items. This is not a request for offers, nor is it the Government's intention to use this as a screening device for any such future requests. However, the Government may invite selected vendors for follow up discussions. Interested vendors should provide their capabilities statements via e-mail to the Contracting Officer at: curtis.fields@faa.gov. They may also be provided via express mail to the following address. Federal Aviation Administration 600 Independence Ave. S.W. Rm E541NN Washington, D.C. 20591 Attn: Curtis Fields ATO-A
