Description
AMENDMENT ISSUED TO CORRECT THE SOLICATION REFERENCE BELOW AND THE CLOSING DATE. A reverse auction technique will be used for the acquisition of High-Performance Synthetic Mooring Line. Vendors are invited to view and participate in the auction at www.fedbid.com. CORRECT solicitation number is DTMA4R06023. Estimated start date is 4/20/06. Estimated Closing date is 4/27/06. NAICS CODE 314991 SIC 2298 FPDS: 4020 Statement of Work Procurement of Tug Boat Mooring Lines and Towing Hawsers Provide the following synthetic lines and accessories: a. 2 ea. Towing Hawsers, 12 strand, constructed of HMPE or equivalent high strength synthetic fiber, 2 ?" nominal diameter, 160 feet in length, with a minimum tensile strength of no less than 529,000 lbs. based on industry standards as published by the Cordage Institute. Each line to have a 4 ft. eye spliced in both ends with chafing gear installed. b. 4 ea. Chafing Guards, 4 feet in length, for use with the above towing hawsers. The chafing guards are to be made of a flexible, yet durable, reinforced fabric outer material that will wear well on the outside against hard, abrasive surfaces while allowing the lines being protected inside to slide with little or no wear. They shall be padded internally for added protection. They must have secure means of closure once it is wrapped around the line, by means of a wide, overlapping hook-and-loop closure such as Velcro, or by any other method approved by the customer. And they must be highly weather-resistant. c. 4 ea. 1 ?" x 45 ft. double braid nylon, with 4 ft. eye spliced in both ends. d. 3 ea. 1 ?" x 60 ft. double braid nylon, with 4 ft. eye spliced in both ends. e. 4 ea. 2" x 45 ft. double braid nylon, with 4 ft. eye spliced in both ends. f. 2 ea. 2" x 60 double braid nylon, with 4 ft. eye spliced in both ends. g. 4 ea. 1" x 600 ft. double braid nylon. h. 1 ea. 3" x 250 ft. 3 strand nylon. Prior to bid closing, bidders shall submit to the Contracting Officer a technical data sheet for the type of synthetic line they are offering in item a. above, attesting to the characteristics detailed above, before their bid will be accepted.
