- This is a Pre-Solicitation notice for a full and open competition. The Federal Highway Administration has a requirement to develop retrofit strategies and options to mitigate damage to highway bridges subject to coastal storm hydrodynamic factors, and recommend improvements for bridges in coastal environments. The work shall consist of development of retrofit solutions validated through analytical work and experimental testing to determine performance of bridges under varying wave height, storm surge, and loading conditions. This solicitation will only be released and available electronically at www.fbo.gov. Accordingly, NO written, telephone, facsimile or e-mail requests for the solicitation package will be accepted. However, interested parties can register at the aforementioned site to receive procurement announcements/notifications of postings by e-mail. The Government anticipates issuing a Solicitation on or about 5/24/2006 by posting it on the website www.fbo.gov. The estimated proposal due date is on or about 06/26/2006, with an estimated award date of 08/15/2006. Since this solicitation will only be available electronically, it will be the responsibility of interested parties to monitor the FBO.gov website for any solicitation amendments. The FHWA anticipates making one award as a result of this solicitation. The estimated period of performance is fifteen months. The NAICS code for this solicitation is 541990.
