Description

The Center for Domestic Preparedness intends to negotiate a contract extension on an urgent and sole source basis with the incumbent contractors; Wackenhut Services, Inc. for armed security guard services specific to the tactical emergency response and chemical surety requirements at the COBRATF; and Advanced Federal Services Corporation for armed security guard services at the CDP enclave and lodging complex for an additional 6-months performance period. This extension is due to unforeseen delays associated with soliciting, negotiating and awarding a follow-on contract for Armed Security Guard Services. The current contracts expire June 14, 2006. The Solicitation Number for the proposed follow-on contract is HSHQSL-06-R-00002. No other companies could immediately obtain the necessary personnel resources, licenses, weapon permits and conduct the mandatory training for all proposed armed security personnel by a start date of June 15, 2006 without incurring substantial costs and causing unacceptable delays.
