- This synopsis is for a 100% small business set-aside solicitation to be awarded as a firm fixed price contract, and is for 3 different Pressure Switches. Contract will include one 100% option for each pressure switch. The pressure switches are used in the Chemical Biological Protective Shelter (CBPS) system. These items are required to provide the electrical switching necessary for proper functioning of the CBPS Environmental (Heating/Cooling) Control Unit (ECU). The switches must be hermetically sealed, have 50,000 Life Cycle minimum Contact ratings, 100 Million Ohm Insulation Resistance, provide single pole double throw switching, withstand a temperature range of -65 through +275 degrees F, be shock and vibration resistant and have a minimum burs t pressure of 5000 pounds per square inch (PSI). However, the three switches have different activation and deactivation pressures in pounds per square inch gauge (PSIG). CLIN 0001, Pressure Switch; NSN: 5930-01-529-6045; P/N: 17-1-9357-1; 3 each. This s witch activates at 50 +/- 10 PSIG and deactivates at 25 +/- 10 PSIG. CLIN 0002; Pressure Switch; NSN: 5930-01-529-6046; P/N: 17-1-9357-2; 4 each. This switch activates at 525 +/- 25 PSIG and deactivates at 370 +/- 30 PSIG. CLIN 0003; Pressure Switch; NS N: 5930-01-529-6214; P/N: 17-1-9357-3; 4 each. This switch activates at 390 +/- 10 PSIG and deactivates at 360 +/- 10 PSIG. First Article Test is required for all items. FOB will be Destination for all items. Estimated Solicitation issue date is 3 May 2006. This solicitation incorporates a Technical Data Package (TDP) that cannot be provided via the internet. Vendors who need this TDP in order to prepare a bid or proposal are instructed to request same by submission of an email request to: tacom-ri-t dp@ria.army.mil. Any said requests should contain the following information; CAGE Code (if available), Company Name, Point of Contact (optional), Street Address, City, State, Zip Code, Telephone Number. A TDP will be provided by normal mail after the so licitation has been released to the internet. This solicitation will be issued electronically in accordance with FAR 4.502 and 5.102, therefore, hardcopies will not be provided. Vendors wishing an electronic copy may download it on or after the issue date by accessing the following address via the internet: https://aais.ria.army.mil/aais/SOLINFO/index.htm. CAUTION: This solicitation will be issued electronically as will any amendments thereto. Because of this, the Government is under no obligation and is in fact unable to maintain a bidders mailing list. It is therefore incumbent upon any interested parties to periodically access the above internet address in order to obtain any amendments which may be issued. Failure to obtain any said amendments and t o respond to them prior to the date and time set for bid opening/receipt of proposals may render your bid or proposal nonresponsive and result in the rejection of same.
