Description
Three and Four Bedroom Floor Tile FOR U.S. COAST GUARD AIRSTA BORINQUEN Housing Area Aguadilla, Puerto Rico PART 1 - GENERAL 1.1 GENERAL SCOPE OF WORK The Contractor shall provide ceramic floor tile in ten (10) ~1300 sf three bedroom houses and one (1) ~2000 sf four bedroom duplex at CG Air Station Borinquen. The work includes furnishing all labor, tools, equipment, materials, and supervision to complete the work described herein. 1.2 REFERENCES The publications listed below form a part of this scope of work. The publications are referred to in the text by the basic designation only. Contractor must follow the latest edition. ACI American Concrete Institute OSHA National Safety Code Drawings Government will make drawings of the existing houses available upon request by the contractor. 1.3 SPECIAL REFERENCES Contractor shall provide a bid proposal with all the submittals and manufacturer recommendations to do this work. The contractor will use the drawings and the specs as reference only and use the best engineering judgment to redesign our suggested miscellaneous improvements. Any recommended changes prior to bid must be approved by Air Station Borinquen Facilities Engineering and contracting officer. Bid will be negotiated and discussed individually to obtain the best proposal possible. Any recommended changes after award must be approved by the Contracting Officer. The latest codes will apply in this project and shall be submitted as part of this proposal. Contractor is recommended to visit the site prior to provide the bid and also to take his own measurements. 1.4 SUBMITTALS Submit at the time of the proposal the following in accordance with the specs and drawings: Bid proposal; including cost breakdown and an estimate schedule of completion. All manufacturer literature for parts and equipment for the following items: a. New ceramic floor tile in the entire house (including grout and finish cement and spacing pattern). Contractor must provide the tile pattern and style equal to the one at 114 school drive for the 3 bedroom and 138 NE for the four bedroom. Safety plan 1.5 WORK REQUIREMENTS 2 Install a ceramic tile floor to the entire house as recommended by the manufacturer. Contractor must provide the tile pattern and style equal to the one at 114 school drive for the 3 bedroom and 138 NE for the four bedroom. Contractor must not deviate without prior approval of the contracting officer and facility department. 2.3.1 Contractor shall obtain for him and all his employees a security ID at 146 Wing Road and comply with all security requirements for the Air Station. Contractor shall submit a safety plan and follow the latest OSHA requirements. 2.3.2 Specifications include the drawing notes, which describe the work to be done. Contractor will use the drawings (government will furnish drawings of houses upon request) as reference for the bid proposal and expand as required to include items needed to complete the project. Note any proposed expansions in accordance with Section 1.3. 2.4 Contractor shall follow all the safety, security, and environmental regulations from the state, federal, and local authorities. 2.5 Contractor and Sub-Contractors must have the government labor insurance policy called ?El Fondo del Seguro del Estado.? 2.6 WORK COORDINATION The construction shall be done so as not to affect any activity in housing area. The Contractor shall coordinate all work with the Facility Engineer at least 48 hours prior to start of work. 2.7 WEATHER CONDITIONS Work outside shall be performed only during appropriate weather conditions. 2.8 INSPECTION PRIOR TO BID A meeting will be scheduled between all of the contractors and the government representatives; this meeting is mandatory to be able to bid. In this meeting the Contractor shall familiarize themselves with the existing site conditions and the houses that already have been re-hab, confirm measurements, discuss phasing issues and questions with the Facility Engineer, etc. U.
