- The DVTE requirement is for a training and mission rehearsal system that can be used in garrison and by deployed units in order to provide combined arms Marine Air Ground Task Force (MAGTF) and Naval Integration training to the battalion and lower levels. DVTE will be comprised of a suite of Personal Computers (PCs) that can emulate ground or air vehicles, dismounted infantry, Forward Observers (FO)/ Forward Air Controllers (FAC), stealth view, After Action Review (AAR) and a Semi-Autonomous Force (SAF) model all in a common virtual environment to engage in virtual combat scenarios. The Marine Corps Systems Command (MCSC) and the Marine Corps Training and Education Command (TECOM) will host an Industry Day in Orlando, FL at Holiday Inn Select beginning 0900 on 25 April 2006. The hotel is located at 12125 High Tech Avenue, Orlando, FL 32817. The purpose of this meeting will be to provide an overview of the DVTE prototype and requirements and an opportunity for industry! members to ask questions of the acquisition manager (PM Training Systems) and the requirements generator (TECOM Technology Division) prior to the release of the DVTE Request for Proposal (RFP). A draft copy of the RFP will be pasted to the PMTRASYS Business Opportunity website by 21 April 2006. Seating will be limited to approximately 4 members from each industry member, it is further requested that all names of individuals planning to attend be submitted prior to 24 April 2006.
