Description
This procurement is a HUBZONE Set-Aside. The U.S. Coast Guard decided to set aside this acquisition for HUBZone concerns since the requirements of the HUBZone sources sought synopsis (Reference Number USCGC WIRE (WYTL 65612), posted January 26, 2006) were met. The solicitation will be issued electronically on the FEDBIZOPPS web page on or about February 22, 2006, at http://www/eps/gov/. Please sign up for the Auto Notification Service to receive e-mail from FEDBIZOPPS when an action is taken under this solicitation. THIS COMMERCIAL ITEM REQUIREMENT IS SET-ASIDE FOR HUBZONE CONCERNS AND WILL BE EVALUATED USING PAST PERFORMANCE AS THE MOST IMPORTANT EVALUATION FACTOR. The homeport of the vessel is SAUGERTIES, NEW YORK. All work will be performed at the vessel’s homepier. The performance period is TWENTY-NINE (29) calendar days and is expected to begin on or about 08 MAY 2006. The scope of the acquisition is for the overhauling, renewing and repairing of various items aboard the USCGC WIRE (WYTL 65612.) This work will include, but is not limited to: Clean Exhaust Pipes; Preserve Weather Deck; Chemically Clean Sewage Piping System; Renew Deck Covering Systems; Install Port Light; Remove Drain Valve; Remove Vent Piping; and Install Emergency Ballast Lights. Trained welders, who have been certified by the applicable regulatory code performance qualification procedures, shall accomplish all welding and brazing. All reference documents are available for viewing at 300 East Main Street, Suite 600, Norfolk, VA 23510-9102. Drawings are now available on CD-ROM. The CD-ROM sets are available for all cutters and will be provided free of charge to contractors upon request. The CD-ROM(s) contain WINDOWS compliant raster/vector formats (e.g.*.TIF, *.TIF (group4), *.DWG, and *.DWF, etc.). Drawings are still available in hardcopy; however, a non-refundable charge of $150.00 is required in the form of a certified check or money order made payable to the U. S. Coast Guard, MLCA, for each set of requested drawings. Requests for U.S. Coast Guard specification referenced drawings (CD or hardcopy) must be made within ten (10) days from the solicitation issuance date. For information concerning the acquisition, contact the Contracting Official listed above. Numbered Note 27 applies. NOTE: THIS NOTICE MAY HAVE POSTED ON FEDBIZOPPS ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (20-FEB-2006).
