Description
The United States Air Force Academy intends to solicit and negotiate a competitive requirements contract for the Department of Defense Medical Examination Review Board (DODMERB) professional medical services. This contract will be a Firm Fixed Price (FFP) contract. The contract provides for professional remedial examination and consultation services to enhance existing medical, audiometric, and optometric ?screening? examinations for the United States Service Academies (Air Force, Army, Navy, and Coast Guard, and Merchant Marine), Reserve Officer Training Corps. (ROTC), and the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences (USUHS). Required services shall be performed throughout the United States and its territories. Therefore the contractor is required to establish/provide multiple examination centers at various locations throughout the country and territories as specified. The contract is expected to begin 1 Oct 2006 with a one month phase-in period (01? 31 October 2006). The basic period of performance is anticipated to be one year (01 October 2006 ? 30 September 2007), with 4 one-year options. The desired schedule is as follows: solicitation release ? 2 MAY 06, proposals due ? 2 June 06, negotiations complete ? 21 JUL 06, award ? SEP 06. Contracted services include, but are not limited to, providing for the professional examinations as listed above, along with personnel management, information technology capable of receiving and sending data electronically to a web based, hypertext protocol secure (https) client server, and the ability to maintain a database of scheduled applicants, and be able to prepare and provide management reports. The approximate number of remedial examinations / consultations required annually for this effort is 9,500 (792 per month). However, these numbers are only approximate based on known historical data, and anticipated future needs, and are not to be considered exact or binding. Multiple awards are not being considered. A source selection will be conducted in accordance with AFFARS 5315.3 at The United States Air Force Academy, CO. A Request For Proposal will be released, no sooner than 15 calendar days after this notice is posted, on the worldwide web at the following website: http://www.fedbizopps.gov/ (FedBizOpps).
