Description
This is a combined synopsis and solicitation for the following commercial items: 0001- REMOVE AND REPLACE LEL MONITOR AND CONTROLLER Furnish all labor, tools, parts, materials, facilities, and transportation necessary to remove, replace, install, and calibrate Lower Explosive Limit (LEL) monitor and controller. This system uses remote sensors to detect the presence of JP-8 explosive vapors in the building and automatically start a purge of the facility when predetermined LEL levels are reached. This system is located in the fuel cell maintenance facility, bldg 2414.The current system is a General Monitors model 610, Four-Channel combustible gas monitor. This system monitors the LEL levels of jet fuel, JP-8, and automatically activates an alarm and a purge fan when predetermined LEL levels are attained. The current system is old and unreliable as it no longer activates the purge fan. The replacement unit must be capable of operating in a range of 0-100% LEL and must be calibrated for our particular vapor, JP-8. It must also activate an alarm and automatically energize the control circuitry of the purge fan when the predetermined LEL level is attained. Recommend replacement with a General Monitors model MC 600 Six-Channel Combustible Gas Monitor (with four cards and 4 new sensor heads) or equal, as long as there are a minimum of 4 sensors.</p> A site visit is planned on April 6 at 0900, for vendors to look at the building, in order to give more accurate quotes regarding installation. The site visit will be at the location of the old system/where the new system is to be delivered/installed, bldg 2414. For this site visit, vendors are required to have a valid driver's license, proof of registration and proof of insurance.
