Description
The Division of Healthcare Quality Promotion has programmatic responsibility for completing and initiating the infection control activities and products. DHQP requires professional services guidance and content expertise to provide the necessary prudence to critical departmental deadlines. One new initiative, the web-based infection control curriculum, requires a content expert to help guide the development of the product. The vendor shall provide the labor and expertise involved in: the preparation and review of scientific documents, including professional guidelines and recommendations; educational materials for healthcare personnel; technical direction on implementing a hospital-based performance improvement project; and technical direction and assistance in convening a meeting on sharps injury prevention, preparation of documents (checklists and tools and charts) for pandemic preparedness in healthcare settings. This will include incorporating public comments, reviewing current literature and incorporating relevant citations. The vendor will take primary responsibility for bringing the document to publication. Prepare and finalize an Annex on Healthcare Facility Preparedness for the CDC Influenza Pandemic Plan. Provide direction and content expertise as requested for Premier/CDC Foundation Sharps Safety Campaign activities. In addition to serving as a content expert and curriculum advisor for the development of an interactive web-based infection control course. The vendor shall possess the following minimum qualifications to perform these tasks: Knowledge, expertise and experience in 1) infection control and healthcare epidemiology, including prevention of sharps injuries in healthcare personnel and detailed knowledge of existing infection control guidelines; 2) preparation of scientific manuscripts, including the development of infection control guidelines and recommendations; 3) principles of adult learning and education; 4) practical infection control experience in international settings. The vendor shall also be familiar with Word and PowerPoint software. A background in nursing and a Masters Degree are preferred. Should a firm outside of the immediate Atlanta, Georgia area be identified for this project, all travel must be of the most economic means and must be pre-approved by the technical monitor for this project. The solicitation with statement of work will be available within 30 hours of this notice. Please note that firms wishing to bid on this solicitation are hereby advised of the following; all vendors who wish to bid on this requirement MUST be registered and validated in the CCR prior to award of this Simplified Acquisition. Vendors who submit a quotation are showing that they are already registered or plan to do so. Quotations will be due fifteen (7) calendar days from the publication date of Request for Quotations or April 11, 2004, by 8:30 a.m. local time, whichever is later. All responsible sources may submit a quotation, which if timely received, shall be considered by the agency. Quotations must be submitted in writing to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2920 Brandywine Road, Atlanta, GA 30341, Attention: Gary Morgan.
