- Description
- The Air Force Research Laboratory Propulsion Directorate (AFRL/PR), Edwards AFB, CA is seeking sources capable of providing scientific and engineering research and development (R&D). This effort will provide on-site theoretical experimental rocket and missile propulsion research in the physical and engineering disciplines in conjunction with some sub-contracting duties. This effort will focus on basic research and the engineering that supports it and the transition of the technology. Typical research to be conducted includes, but is not limited to, chemical/physical science and engineering investigation of High Energy Density Matter (HEDM), Materials research, Chemical/Physical Sciences and Engineering Disciplines, as well as Aero-physics interactions. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code for is effort will be 541710. This acquisition will be a re-compete of the Research in Propulsion Science contract. It anticipated that a cost plus fixed fee contract will be awarded. It is anticipated that the period of performance will consist of a five year basic effort with two (2) two (2) year options. Contract award is estimated to take place the first quarter of 2006. The Government will award to the offeror who gives the greatest confidence that they will best satisfy our requirements in an affordable manner. This solicitation will be 100% set-aside for small business. This notice is for the purpose of advising interested parties that the Government is conducting an exchange with industry, i.e. Industry Day, on Thursday, 26 May 2005 at 0800 (PST) in Building 2800, 5 South Wolfe Avenue, Air Force Test Center (AFFTC), Edwards Air Force Base, Ca. All intersted parties wishing to attend this meeting must submit email request no later than 1600 (PST) 18 May 2005 to Glenda Downing at glenda.downing@edwards.af.mil. The results of these exchanges will aide in the finalize of a requirements package. NOTE: THIS NOTICE MAY HAVE POSTED ON FEDBIZOPPS ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (09-MAY-2005).
