Description
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Philadelphia District intends to issue a Request for Quote (RFQ) for the lease of One (1) truck-mounted excavator with operator for forty five (45) work days at the C&D Canal located in both Cecil and New Castle Coun ties, Delaware. The requirement is for the Lease of Equipment for the replenishment of the rip rap banks at the C&D Canal in accordance with the statement of work. The excavator shall be furnished with a Rock Handling Bucket large enough to handle 1,200 lb. rocks, similar to a Warner-Swasey G-1000 with a 8 foot Boom Extension for 45 work days total. An Oilier/Truck Drive will be required if the machine does not have Remote Control Capability. The total boom length must be able to reach 35 ft. down on a 45 degree angle, and also be able to swing and work under power lines. Power Lines are about 20 feet high. Power shall be locked out. The Operator must have at least one (1) year experience in placing rip rap, and be able to replace and complete 300 tons of rip rap in a day if needed. The rip rap will need to be placed in a tight fit with a flat finish. The Government will award a contract resulting from this solicitation to the responsible offeror whose offer conforming to the solicitation will be most advantageous to the Government, price and other factors considered. The significant evaluation factors are past performance and price. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers plans to award a Firm Fixed Price contract to a small business firm under FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The Request for Quote (RFQ) Number W912BU-06-T-0032 shall issued on or about 3 April 2006 and remain posted on FedTeds for approximately11 calendar days with offers to be submitted not later than 1600 hours on or about 27 April 2006. The work is required to begin 5 June 2006. The contractor will be required to complete performance within 45 work days total. The contractor shall be required to submit a Payment Bonds equal to 100% of the quote within ten (10) days after receipt of award. Contractors may fax their quotes to 215-656-6798, Attn: K. C ontractors must register on the Internet and download RFQ package and any amendments from the following address: https://www.fedteds.gov on or after the issue date of the RFQ. Contractors are responsible for printing paper copies of the solicitation and an y amendments. If any contractor information changes during the advertisement period, contractors are responsible for making changes to their user profile on the Internet. Failure to do so may cause a delay in receiving notice of the solicitation and/or an y amendments. All contractors are required to be registered in the DODs Central Contract Register (CCR) before award as required by DFARS 204.7300.
