- Under the authority of FAR 15, the U.S. Army Natick Contracting Division, Kansas Street, Natick, MA on behalf of the United States Army-Soldier Systems Center, Natick, MA intends to negotiate and award a purchase order on a sole source basis with Sma rt Commercial Kitchen (of Stratford, CT 06615). This order will be for installation of an automated food service management and information system that will allow U.S. Navy food personnel to remotely monitor and configure equipment cooking times and temper atures, as well as remotely display the status of the equipment and food-product cooking on a real-time basis. The system allows historical and operational data to be collected and remotely monitored on an annual basis. The SCK system has been determined t o be the only currently available system that can systematically interface its system with the existing Navy sub hatchable oven, North American Food Equipment Manufacturers data protocol, and other unique instrumented appliances. The SCK system is the onl y one that has successfully demonstrated that its system meets the US Navys requirements to improve asset and labor utilization, monitor and remotely manage food quality and safety factors and provide real time information to allow for better food service personnel decisions. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determin ing whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement.
