Description
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) intends to award a sole source contract to Oregon State University (OSU), 130 Radiation Center, Corvallis, Oregon 97331-5902. The title of the project is ƒħAPEX Steam Generator Thermal Hydraulic Tests.ƒ° Specifically, OSU will be required to conduct a series of reflux condensation tests using the steam generators in the APEX facility. The experimental data is to provide a basis to assess TRACE steam generator modeling techniques and to assist in the development of improved models for condensation and steam generator thermal-hydraulics. The tests will also provide data on the effect of non-condensible gases for the primary side steam generator condensation. The contractor shall provide all labor and materials necessary to prepare the test facility (including instrumentation) for testing, develop the test procedures for the testing, and following execution of the test procedures, qualify test data, and report on the results. The NRC intends to award a cost reimbursement contract with a four year period of performance. No solicitation document exists. Interested firms should submit written responses that provide evidence of the respondentƒs capability to perform the required services to the NRC, at the address shown, no later than December 6, 2005. Capability statements that do not demonstrate evidence of the respondentƒs ability to provide these services will not be considered. Direct all questions, referencing RES-05-090, to exj1@nrc.gov, by November 18, 2005. NOTE: THIS NOTICE MAY HAVE POSTED ON FEDBIZOPPS ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (21-OCT-2005).
