Description

AMENDMENT 03 for Infant Security System for NMCSD. QUESTION: Which doors are to be secured by the Infant Security System for the patient elevators? ANSWER: On an elevator, there are two sets of doors: there are doors mounted on the elevator car (Inner doors, also called a Car Door), and there are doors that protect the elevator shaft (outer doors or entrance doors). If the inner doors on the car were to be locked, the elevator would not function normally on non-protected floors, contrary to the requirements of the solicitation. The doors that enclose the elevator shaft (outer doors), and provide protection from smoke/fire spread, and prevent personnel from falling into the elevator shaft are the doors that should be secured. The proposal due date and time remain unchanged. Proposals are due not later than 1630 (4:30 PM) local time (EST) on 29 March 2006.
