- L.A. Job Corps is requesting bids for clinical facility contract. Acute medical/clinic care site plus two physicians specialized in the medical care of adolescents and young adults to provide medical services on site to approximately 735 Job Corps students. The services to be provided will include two physicians, one is a senior fellow and the other a physician coordinator, not to exceed 29 hours per week for both. Main services to be provided are: 1) Provision of medical examination and health history of each student within two weeks of arrival on LAJCC. 2) Provision of diagnosis and treatment of illness and injury. 3) Provision of, or arrangements for, preventive immunization and detection and control of communicable diseases. 4) Referrals for specialists and institutional care which includes the successful bidder medical facility, emergency room, specialty clinics, etc. The coordinator will attend pre-arranged weekly meetings with the LAJCC mental health consultant. The coordinator will provide medical staff training as needed per request by the LAJCC. Bids must be received by April 7, 2006. The terms of the contract will be for two years commencing on May 1, 2006 and continuing until April 30, 2008 with the option to extend this contract's period for up to three years in successive one year increments. YWCA of Greater Los Angeles operates the Los Angeles Job Corps Center under contract with the U.S. Department of Labor, Employment and Training Administration. Job Corps is a federally funded training and education program for youth ages 16-24 years and who meet certain other criteria. The successful bidder must also comply with all Federal Acquisition Regulation clauses and be compliant under all related federal statutory requirements and regulations.
