Description
Longitudinal follow-up of Youth with ADHD Identified in Community Settings: Examining Health Status, Correlates, and Effects Associated with Treatment for ADHD The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Center on Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities (NCBDDD, contemplates issuing a firm fixed price type contract to study the long-term outcomes and health status for children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) identified and treated in community settings through a systematic follow-up of the subjects who participated in the Project to Learn about ADHD in Youth conducted at two research sites (PLAY Study Collaborative). This project is for the contintuation of two studies awarded to conduct community-based epidemiological research contractors on ADHD in childhood. These studies will inform community-based prevalence, rates of comorbidity, and rates of health risk behaviors among elementary-age children with and without ADHD as determined by a rigorous case definition developed by the principal investigators in collaboration with CDC scientists. The Offeror shall demonstrate that they have staff with appropriate training expertise, experience, and availability to plan and implement this project as described in the Work Statement. The proposed staff should have substantial research experience in the assessment of children with ADHD and their families. The principal investigator should be experienced in ADHD treatment research and available for providing adequate input to the research activities. The contemplated period of performance is 60 months with two 12 month options. Note 22 (amended) ?The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with two sources under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within forty-five days (thirty days if award is issued under an existing basic ordering agreement) after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.? The approximate release date of the RFP on the FedBizOpps Website (http://www.fedbizopps.gov) is on or about April 17, 2006. The RFP due date will be approximately 30 days after posting of the RFP. The RFP will be available only by downloading at this internet sit: www.fbo.gov.
