- Description
- The Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division (NAWCWD), Pt. Mugu, CA., has a requirement to procure a prototype 40 Meter Mobile Ship Target ( 40M MST) to support weapon system test and evaluation. The prototype vessel is to be built of steel construction to prevailing commercial standards in accordance with contract guidance drawings and specifications to be provided by the Government. The vessel will be powered by conventional twin diesel engine propulsion and will be remote controlled by the Government after delivery from the builder. No remote control components or systems are part of this procurement. The vessel will be 42.2M in length (138'), 40M between perpendiculars (131?) with a 5.4M ( 17.7') beam and will contain no habitability or hotel services. The successful bidder will provide fabrication, installation of propulsion and support equipment, builders and acceptance trials, delivery to Port Hueneme, California, construction drawings, as-built drawings and all other items identified in the specifications and statement of work. The proposed contract is for one vessel only with no options for additional vessels. It is anticipated the solicitation will be issued on or about 24 April 2006 and will be available at NECO. The specifications and guidance drawings will be available from the contract specialist, Nancy Landeros at nancy.landeros@navy.mil phone 805-989-1880. The specifications and drawings will be available concurrent with the issuance of the solicitation. When requesting specifications and drawings, please provide the company name, company mailing address, company's cage code, company's point of contact and the point of contact's e-mail address. No hard copies of the solicitation will be furnished unless absolutely necessary. The anticipated due date for proposals is 30 May 2006; however the actual proposal date will be stated in the solicitation when issued. Proposals must be written in English and all costs proposed must be in US dollars. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the agency.
