- The 9th Annual Space and Missile Defense Conference and Exhibition will take place August 14-17, 2006, at the Von Braun Center in Huntsville, Alabama. The theme for this years event is 'Global Missions&Meeting the Challenge.' Conference highlights include presentations in the areas of global ballistic missile defense system development and operation, emerging technologies, and integration of cruise missile defense. The previously successful Small Business Innovatice Research Co nference and Exhibition will also be held in conjunction with the 9th Space and Missile Defense Conference and Exhibition. Other special features of this years conference include the expansion of exhibit displays throughout the entire Von Braun Center and daily attractions in each hall. The attractions include book signings from celebrity authors, a program to support spouses visiting the city, a free session track on emerging technologies, artifacts from the Statue of Liberty, and the worlds most valuable and historic chopper, The Liberty Bike. These attractions, along with the viewing of all exhibits, are free and open to t he general public.
