- FED BIZ OPPS NOTICE M192 Lightweight Ground Mount Assembly The U.S. Army, ARDEC has a requirement for an initial quantity of four thousand four hundred and forty-four (4,444) M192 Lightweight Ground Mount Assemblies to be procured in FY06. In addition there may be four subsequent ordering periods for Indefinite-Delivery, Indefinite-Quantity (IDIQ) from FY07 through FY10. Maximum quantity in any one ordering period is 9,000 M192 Lightweight Ground Mounts. The M192 Lightweight Ground Mount (LWGM) is an improved capability ground mount intended to replace the heavier, larger, less capable M122A1 Tripod currently in use. The M192 will be used to ground mount the M249 SAW in the Light Machine Gun role and the M240B Medium Machine Gun. The primary mission for the M192 LWGM is to provide a stable, easy to use, low profile mounting platform for the M249 SAW LMG and M240B MMG so they can deliver controlled, sustained, and accurate fire at extended ranges to support combat operations in the offensive and defensive role as required. The M192 LWGM will replace the current M122A1 Tripod on a one-for-one basis. The item is envisioned to be fabricated from a combination of cast, forged, and NC machined parts. The materials to be used in fabrication include standard carbon and alloy steels, aluminum alloys, and bronze alloys. No exotic materials are used. Various heat treatments, stress relieving, and final surface protective finishes are required for these materials. Significant welding is required. The final assembly shall have a protective finish lusterless black in color. No deviations to the drawing materials, treatment, or finish will be permitted. The contractor shall fabricate the item in accordance with U.S.G. drawings, inspect them in accordance with U.S.G. Quality Assurance Provisions (QAP), and package them in accordance with U.S.G. Special Packaging Instructions (SPI). The contractor must be able to sustain a delivery schedule of 600 Lightweight Ground Mount Assemblies per month. There will be a First Article Test quantity and requirement to pass First Article prior to approval for full production. See Notes 1 and 26.
