- Description
- The Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) intends to issue a commercial award of a special make and model product manufactured by SafeNet, Inc., 8029 Corporate Drive, Baltimore, MD 21236: SafeEnterprise DS3 Link Encryptors, AC, AES and one year maintenance, support and upgrades. Currently SafeNet is the only Type III encryptor manufacturer that can meet Government?s requirement and offers encryption devices that will integrate into the existing GIG infrastructure for SouthWest Asia. The SafeNet devices include all of the major functions and features required to support the Transport networks, in terms of bandwidth speed (OC3 up to OC192), configuration and network management capabilities, encryption modes and algorithms, and resynchronization downtime. This synopsis is a notice of intent to issue the award using other than full and open competition and should not be considered a request for alternative makes and models. The determination of the Government not to open subject requirement to full and open competition was made IAW FAR 6.302-1 and 10 USC 2304 (c) (1) and is solely at the discretion of the Government.
