- Description
- The Naval Oceanographic Office, Stennis Space Center, MS intends to issue a sole source award to Focal Technologies, Inc., Dartmouth, NS, CA under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) and in accordance with FAR 6.302-1. The requirement is to modify/upgrade an existing government-owned slip ring by replacing the Fiber Optic Rotary Joint (FORJ) with a new model 242, with four single mode fiber passes. Contractor is to clean and reuse the electrical portion of the existing assembly. The existing slip ring assembly was manufactured by Focal Technologies, Inc. This action is being conducted in accordance with FAR 12 and FAR 13 and DFARS 225.870. NAICS 335999 with business size of 500 employees applies. A firm fixed-price purchase order is anticipated. This synopsis is published for informational purposes only and is not a request for competitive offers. Any inquiries concerning this requirement are to be submitted in writing to the Contracting Officer. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. See Note 22.
