Description

The Armed Forces Institute of Pathology (AFIP) has a requirement for maintenance of Applied Biosystems equipment. This equipment includes DNA Analyzers, Sequence Detection Systems, DNA Synthesizers, and Genetic Analyzers. This requirement is being issued by Gov.Works under the franchise authority of the Department of the Interior on behalf of the AFIP in accordance with FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items. The Government intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Applied Biosystems for this requirement in accordance with FAR 6.302-1. Only factory trained engineers certified by Applied Biosystems can be authorized to service Applied Biosystems equipment and this certification is available only to Applied Biosystems employees.
