Description: NESP Nav - Main Channel Fish Trawling - Towboat Rental. The U. S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) is in need of a tow with fifteen (15) loaded barges to conduct field survey work in support of Navigation Study assessment of the effects of navigation on fish. A towboat and crew are required to evaluate potential towboat propeller entrainment on fishes. A specially designed net, provided by ERDC, will be attached to the stern of the vessel to filter propeller wash. The net is 30 feet wide at the mout h, 140 feet long, with two, 800 pound Tom weights on the bottom line to maintain net opening. ERDC will provide a design engineer to attach the net to the stern of the vessel. The towboat must provide welding equipment and operator to attach two large bl ocks at each end of the stern where the Tom weights will be attached, and 2 small winches (provided by ERDC) along the deck to control deployment of the Tom weights. A 20 Ft boat, will follow the towboat during sampling. Anticipated towboat delay due to s ampling effort is 172 hours. The apparent low bidder must be CCR registered.
