Description
MARKET RESEARCH INFORMATION Title: FCS Lead System Integrator (LSI) Market Survey Description: FCS Lead System Integrator (LSI) Market Survey THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY. THERE IS NO SOLICITATION AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME. The Army requires that the Future Combat Systems (FCS) and the Distributed Common Ground System Army (DCGS-A) interoperate to achieve effective situation understanding for the warfighter. It is also required that DCGS-A software (i.e. DCGS-A Embedded) wi ll be integrated into FCS vehicles. Also the requirements for processing intelligence information in the FCS and DCGS-A are similar, so there are opportunities to share technologies to achieve these requirements, thereby avoiding duplicative development co sts. The Government intends to award this effort to, Boeing, the FCS Lead System Integrator (LSI), to provide engineering and analysis services for the DCGS-A Project Management Office, to help develop FCS/DCGS-A system interoperability, to help plan for i ntegration of DCGS-A Embedded into FCS and to help achieve sharing of technology to meet FCS and DCGS-A requirements. The period performance for this cost-plus-fixed-fee level of effort will last 36 months after contract award. This will be a sole-source p rocurement. Based upon previous market research, the Government is not intending to use the policies contained in Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items, in this solicitation for the described services. However, interested parties may identify their inte rest and ability to satisfy the Governments requirement with a commercial item within the prescribed timeframe, identified below. Interested sources which have technical knowledge of FCS design and current contracts to develop FCS design, control FCS configuration, control of the FCS interfaces, deliver FCS software, integrate software into the FCS, similar to that of the FCS LSI, ar e invited to send a response describing in detail their ability with regard to each of the areas listed above. Proprietary information is not being solicited. The Government will not reimburse interested sources or responders to this notice for any costs i ncurred in responding, or for subsequent exchanges of information. Responses should be submitted no later than close of business 2 April 2006. Information submitted does not constitute a proposal, but will be considered an exchange of capabilities and idea s. Technical questions and responses should be addressed to: Mr. John Quinn, PM DCGS-A; SFAE-IEWS-DCGS-A, Bldg. 550, Saltzman Avenue, Fort Monmouth, NJ 07753
