Description
HOMELAND SECURITY DETECT AND PROTECT: NOVEL MILITARY TECHNOLOGIES FOR COMMERCIAL USE. Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD and SMALL BUSINESS PARTNERING OPPORTUNITY SHOWCASE. The Maryland Technology Development Corporation (TEDCO), the Tech Council of Marylan d (TCM), and the U.S. Armys Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG) will jointly host this federal marketplace and technology transfer event for emerging technologies from APGs research laboratories that can be developed for commercialization. APG is a world leade r in military and homeland security, and conducts testing, training, and research and development vital to Americas men and women in uniform. SMALL BUSINESS PARTICIPATION IS CRUCIAL. WE ARE SEEKING EMERGING TECHNOLOGY LEADERS. The all-day program will include: presentations of available cooperative research and patent license opportunities; networking with commercial, government, military and scientific leaders; examples of successful partnerships with APG; exhibits and a poster session that highlight partnership possibilities; and a brief by the Army Contracting Agency with an overview of the contracting process and opportunities at APG. Officials from TEDCO will be available to provide information on state and federal funding p rograms that support technology transfer projects. Small businesses engaged in the following areas should attend: Homeland Security/Defense; Biotechnology; Chemical/Biological Detectors and Sensors; Training in Nuclear/Biological/Chemical First Response; Security and Screening Checkpoints; Personal Protect ive Clothing; Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and Robotics; Vehicle Armor and Protection; and Materiel Development and Testing. Merge onto MD-715 East towards APG. At this point, you will check in at the APG Gate with your government-issued photo ID and your car registration. Fo llow the signs to the parking lot behind building 305 for frequent shuttle transport to the Top of the Bay.
