- This is an amendment to the combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6. All provisions, clauses and specifications in the original solicitation remain the same and the due date for quotations is close of business March 30, 2006. Clarifications are offered as follows: 1) The specification in line item number one states that expected flows are 2500 gpd average daily flow, and 5000 gpd peak daily flow. The Government plans to refit an existing septic tank as an equalization tank which will reduce the affect of "peak flow" into the treatment system. Therefore, we may consider systems that are rated to treat flows in the range of 2500 - 5000 gpd. 2) Also in line item number one, the specification states that system must meet applicable State standards and certifications, including NSF International, standard 40. This statement is revised to read "The commercial-sized system rated for 2500-5000 gpd should provide a treatment process equivalent to the technology used for residential-sized systems that meet the applicable local (Amherst County), state (Commonwealth of Virginia), and Federal standards and certifications (including NSP International Standard 40, Class 1 and US EPA Environmental Technology Verification). Delivery product literature should include references to at least one system successfully permitted, installed and in operation in Virginia in conjunction with drip drainfield disposal systems.
