Description
THIS PROCUREMENT IS TOTALLY SET-ASIDE FOR SMALL BUSINESSES. The Smithsonian Institution (SI) is seeking offers for the replacement of the fire detection and alarm system at the National Air and Space Museum (NASM) located at 6th Street and Independence Avenue, SW, Washington, DC. The North American Industry Classification is 236220, size standard $28.5 million. All responsible small business concerns are encouraged to submit a proposal, which shall be considered by the Smithsonian Institution. The project includes fire alarm system replacement, exhibit protection, and abatement of asbestos and lead containing materials. Additionally, the fire detection and alarm system must remain in service at all times. This Request for Proposal (RFP) will consist of two parts. Part 1: Technical Proposal in which the Offerors establish their qualifications in accordance with the following Evaluation Standards: (1) Firm’s Experience and Past Performance; (2) Plan of Accomplishment and Contract Time; (3) Key Personnel and Subcontractors; and (4) Fire Detection and Alarm System Fabricators and Installers. Part 2: Evaluation of price proposal. Contractors must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) prior to award. Registration may be accomplished at http://www.ccr2000.com/index.cfm, or 1-888-CCR-2423. The estimated cost range is $1,000,000 - $5,000,000. Period of Performance is 502 calendar days from date of issuance of the Notice to Proceed. Issuance o/a February 28, 2006; receipt of proposals March 29, 2006.
