Description
USAF ACADEMY CONTRACTOR LOGISTICS SUPPORT (CLS) The requirement is for sole source logistics support for the U.S. Air Force (AF) Academy (USAFA) fleet of 50 aircraft (21 Blanik, 5 Schempp-Hirth, 14 Ximango, 7 Cessna, and 3 Dehavilland). The fleet is generally used for flight training of AF cadets. Aircraft are stationed at the USAF Academy and Peterson AFB, both located in Colorado Springs, CO. The period of performance is 1 Apr 2006 through 31 Mar 2007. This is a bridge period of performance to contract F05611-00-D-M003. During the 12 month period of performance, decisions will be made regarding fleet size and aircraft type. Information for the follow-on effort for Full and open competition will be posted to Fedbizops beginning in Jan/Feb 2006. The bridge requirement includes the performance of all maintenance and installation of modifications, including parts and labor, IAW the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and the U.S. Air Force requirements for the USAFA fleet. The contractor will furnish tow aircraft and pilots for the non-motorized gliders (Blanik). The requirement also includes day-to-day maintenance, parts required, which shall be accomplished at both locations. The government will furnish petroleum, oils and lubricants (POL), some support equipment and facilities at both locations. The requirement includes unscheduled maintenance, including parts and labor. Supply support of all parts, including engines, will be a requirement of this contract. NOTE: THIS NOTICE MAY HAVE POSTED ON FEDBIZOPPS ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (01-SEP-2005).
