- Contracting Office Address Department of the Navy, Naval Air Systems Command, Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Pax River, Building 441 21983 Bundy Road Unit 7, Patuxent River, MD, 20670 The Naval Air Systems Command-Aircraft Division (NAVAIR-AD), Patuxent River, Maryland has a requirement for: 10 watt diode pumped solid state doubled Nd:YVO4 laser system with 532nm wavelength. All items are manufactured and will be provided by Coherent Laser Group 5100 Patrick Henry Drive Santa Clara, CA 95054. Coherent Laser Group is the only know manufacturer of this laser system. The production of these items requires access to proprietary information controlled by Coherent Laser Group. The Government intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Coherent Laser Systems because they provide unique, specialized manufacturing capabilities that are tailored and clearly applicable to AIR 4.5.6 - EO/Special Missions with an anticipated award date of 30 March, 2006, and an estimated delivery date of 26 May, 2006 to NAVAIR-AD Patuxent River, MD. Items must be procured from Coherent Laser Group to ensure system compatibility and interoperability. Interested parties may submit a capabilities statement in which they identify their interest and capability. All capabilities statements received by 5:00PM Eastern Standard Time, 29 March, 2006 e-mailed to anthony.gatlin@navy.mil, or faxed to (301) 757-9046 will be considered by the Government solely for the purpose of determining whether to initiate a competitive procurement. Technical capability will be determined solely on the content and merit of the information submitted in response to this provision. Therefore, it is incumbent on the interested party to provide sufficient technical literature, documentation, etc. in order for the Government to make an adequate technical assessment. The Government reserves the right to process the procurement on a sole source basis for the brand specific item based upon the responses received. The Government will not pay for any information received.
