- Description
- The U.S. Army Communications-Electronics Life Cycle Management Command (C-E LCMC) Acquisition Center-Washington (CACW) on behalf of the US Army RDECOM, CERDEC, Night Vision and Electronic Sensors Directorate (NVESD), Countermine Division, Ground Vehi cle Applications Branch intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with NIITEK, Inc. of Sterling, VA a contract for the integration and demonstration of the NIITEK high performance ground penetrating radar (GPR) on a Mine Protected Vehicle. The objecti ve of the contract is to demonstrate the detection of improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and antitank (AT) landmines on primary and secondary roads with a high probability of detection greater than 0.90, and a low false alarm rate less than 0.001 per squ are meter, at detection speeds of 8 to 10 kilometers per hour. The length of the proposed contract is 18 months. The solicitation number is W909MY-06-R-0025. The statutory authority for other than full and open competition is 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1).
