- ** The competition for this possible procurement is restricted to domestic (US and Canada) sources only! The US ARMY TACOM-ARDEC intends to make award on a restricted competition basis under the authority of FAR 6.302-3. The 155mm Modular Artillery Charge System (MACS) comprises two propelling charges. The M231 charges are used at zones 1 and 2, and the M232A1 charges are used at zones 3 and higher. The PAP7993 gun propellant is used for the M231 propelling charge. This procurement action is for the production of M231 charges scheduled for FY06 through FY07. Basic Requirement: Approx. PAP7993 Granular Propellant for M231 MACS (Modular Artillery Charge System) Propelling Charges (450,000 lbs) Approximate OPTION Quantity (if exercised) PAP7993 Granular Propellant for M231 MACS (Modular Artillery Charge System) Propelling Charges (NTE - 4,161,650 pounds) See Numbered Notes 8 and 26.
