Description
POINT OF CONTACT: Richard Elder, 508-233-5311 EMAIL: richard.elder@natick.army.mil Description: This is NOT a notice of RFP. This is a sources sought synopsis. There is no solicitation available at this time. Requests for solicitation will receive no response. This sources sought synopsis is published for Market research only and to identify pote ntial sources. Objective: United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) is conducting a survey of commercially available anti-microbial fabrics. All sources capable of providing anti-microbial knit fabrics in which the anti-microbial element is imp regnated into the fiber are being sought. Fabric is intended for use in next-to-skin applications (i.e. t-shirts, long underwear, etc.) Anti-microbial knit fabrics which use a wash on or topical finishing treatment are not being considered. All sources responding must supply the following: size status in relation to the applicable Standard Industrial Classification (SIC Code), technical information concerning their respective antimicrobial technologies to include user testimonials and any pertinent test ing data to include summaries of the results, a swatch of any materials being submitted, production capability and associated timelines (include minimum quantity available for order), a statement of Berry Amendment Compliance (only Berry Amendment complian t submissions will be reviewed), and pertinent costing data. Important features to be considered are the following: the ability to transmit vapor, resist staining; strong color performance properties to minimize crocking, CF to light, no color change due to laundering and perspiration staining is desired; durability to repeated home launderings. Pertinent technical data to be supplied (but not limited to) are as follows: Weight oz/sq. yd, Moisture Vapor Transport (ASTM E96 BW Inverted), Crocking ASTM D 5053, CF to laundering (AATCC 61), CF perspiration (AATCC 15), stretch and recovery for knits (ASTM 2594-87). All sample packets received will become Government property and the Government will not return any samples submitted. Deadline for all submissio ns will be 30 days after the posting date. No samples will be accepted after this date.
