Description
ELECTRIC SCISSOR LIFT DESIGN REQUIREMENTS The lift shall be designed and built for installation by the CONTRACTOR. Complete delivered system shall include limit switches remote control hardware and installation hardware including all bolts and anchors. Lift components shall be designed for indoor operation with consideration for safety, reliability & durability. Lift will be supplied with warning light(s) and buzzer(s) (alarm bells) when the lift is in operation Lift shall be supplied with removable railings that meet OSHA 29 CFR 1910 requirements. Access gate shall be included with the removable railings. Railing shall be supplied with toe guards. Handrails shall be 42 inches high with a midrail and 4- inch high kick plate at the bottom. Mount rail sockets flush with the platform surface. The lift shall operate without bind, jam or cause damage to its components while operating within the specified operating range. The lift will be a minimum of a double scissor design. Lift Performance Requirements: Recess-mounted vertical lifting platform (minimum 10,000-lb lifting capacity with a 7,000-pound edge load capability (Load evenly distributed along edge.) Vertical lifting platform shall be 6-foot wide by 18-foot long with 6 feet of lift. Lift shall be of a double scissor design with a pair of scissors at the front and a pair at the back of the platform. Platform size: 6-foot wide x 18-foot long Lifting Weight: 10,000 pounds, uniform 7,000 pounds, edge load: sides-front-rear Lifting operating range: 6 Feet Lift Speed ? Raise: 8 fpm maximum load Lift Speed ? Lower: 8 fpm maximum load Electric Power ? Motor: 460 V, 3ph, 60 Hz Controls: 24 V, 1ph, 60 Hz, Components or system shall be UL approved. Pendent push button remote control with programmable height. Wireless remote control desirable. Platform Surface: Nonskid safety tread steel plate with subsurface tie-downs located every 12 inches on inside edge of plate. Coating: Enamel gloss paint (Submit MSDS sheets for paint, prior to painting, for CONTRACTOR review and approval) MATERIALS AND FABRICATION Fabricate lift from structural steel shapes rigidly welded and reinforced for maximum strength, safety and stability. Design the assembly to withstand deformation during both operating and stored phases of service. Provide mounting brackets and removable lifting eyes for ease of installation. Fabricate lift platform from steel plate with beveled toe guards on all four sides. Platform Surface: Nonskid safety tread steel plate. Scissor Mechanism: Fabricate leg members from standard heavy steel formed tube or plate members to provide maximum strength and rigidity.
