- The intent of this contract is to provide bio-statistical analytical services, specifically an analysis of stream invertebrate community data collected by the USFS-LTBMU and Tahoe Regional Planning Agency to result in an Index of Biological Integrity for streams in the Lake Tahoe Basin. The analysis will identify key stream community metrics that respond to human and management activities. There is a need to present the results of this analysis to the public and stakeholder groups. There are 11 Tasks: 1)Review existing data and reports 2)Define GIS variables and analysis 3)Develop gradient of human disturbance 4)Test for response of taxa to human disturbance 5)Evaluate metric response to human disturbance 6)Evaluate influence of natural gradients on metric response 7)Develop multi metric index and evaluate precision 8)Develop sampling plan for trend assessment through time 9)Prepare Draft Report 10)Prepare written responses to all comments and incorporate comments into final report 11) Participate in two meetings. Tasks are expected to be completed within 90 days of contract signing by both parties. Project is located on the Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit, South Lake Tahoe CA 96150. Solicitation and project map will be available for viewing approximately March 28, 2006. Response date is approximately April 28, 2006, with an approximate starting date of May 15, 2006.
