- Year round on-call helicopter flight services for one AS350B3 or equal helicopter, and one BH205++ or equal helicopter, fully contractor operated and maintained, to support Search and Rescue (SAR) operations and project work such as trail maintenance for the National Park Service at Mt. Rainier Park National Park. Types of work may include STEP (single-skid, toe-in, hover-entry/exit-protocol) landings, low-level (less than 500 feet above ground level) reconnaissance flights, sling load and long line. The Contractor's response time for Search and Rescue events is 2 hours from the time the Park attempts contact. The Park historically conducts two to three aerial SAR events per year. Typical altitude at Mt. Rainier ranges from sea level to 12,000 feet. Terrain includes high mountains and glaciers and may include snow landings. The contract includes options to extend the contract up to an additional four years. The Contractor shall possess a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certificate issued under 14 CFR Part 135, 133, and 137. The anticipated issue date of the solicitation is February 10, 2006. It is a requirement that the successful awardee be registered in the Central Contractor Registry (CCR). Solicitation information will be available through the fedbizopps site and at www.oas.gov.
