Description

McAlester Army Ammunition Plant is seeking manufacturers/suppliers of POLYBUTADIENE, LIQUID, HYDROXYL-TERMINATED. Material must meet the requirements of and be certified to the Type II material listed in WS-23148D, Material Specification for Polybutadiene, Liquid, Hydroxyl-Terminated. Chemical and physical properties for Type II polybutadiene, liquid, hydroxyl-termi nated are as follows: 1. Viscosity, poise 50+15 ;2. Hydroxyl content, 0.73 min. - 0.93 max milliequivalents/gram; 3. Moisture, weight 0.10 percent (max); 4. Nonvolatile matter, 99.5 weight percent (min). Chemical and physical properties are to be measure/tested IAW the requirements of Section 4.6 of WS-23148D, Material Specification for Polybutadiene, Liquid, Hydroxyl-Terminated. Manufacturer/supplier is requested to provide two each one gallon samples of polybutadiene for testing purposes. The two gallons are to be from two different manufacturers lot numbers. Manufacturer to provide the following information with each of the s amples: 1. MSDS for the polybutadiene; 2. Lot number of the material; 3. Manufacturers material name; 4. Date material was manufactured; 5. Physical/chemical properties data sheet with at least the following information: a. Viscosity, poise; b. Hydroxyl content, milliequivalents/gram; c. Moisture, weight percent; d. Nonvolatile matter, weight percent; 6. A statement from the manufacturer that the material mets and complies with the requirements of Type II material listed in WS-23148D, Material Specification for Polybutadiene, Liquid, Hydroxyl-Terminated. Copies of WS-23148D, Material Specification for Polybutadiene, Liquid, Hydroxyl- Terminated are available upon request.
